Apple watch charging adapter

Hello everyone,

The question is what is the right power adapter for charging the apple watch series 7? Can we use a 61 W MacBook charging adapter? Or what would be the right Watt power adapter to charge the apple watch?

Any adaptor sold by Apple with USB-C output and rating 20W or above will work with the new Apple Watch fast charge cable. The cable will negotiate the correct output from the adaptor. Third party adaptors might also be compatible if they have a rating for 5v and 9v at least as good as the 20W Apple unit, but we can't guarantee success with third party products.

Watt  is like how fast your car can drive, but the speed limit is how fast your car do drive

the iphone draw as much current as it was build to use when charging, the fact that

a charger can provide a lot more just means it's not having its full capacitive

used

so as long as it's no higher than 5volts and the connector fits and it's minimum 5

watt then it could be 5GigaWatt without problems

No longer strictly true for the USB-C adaptors which also have a rating for 9v output which is required for the fast charge function with the new Apple Watch. Some of the higher rated adaptors (USB-PD) may also have the ability to push 15v and 20v but they are also OK to charge the lower rated devices. My 30W adaptors have 20v, 15v, 9v, 5v capability and charge my Apple Watch 7 perfectly .
