Wondering:
- If videos still play ok in QuickTime Player, Photos, or Keynote ?
- if you have an ad blocker,
or other third-party (non-Apple) apps like unnecessary virus-checkers)
that may be interfering with the smooth operation of your Mac.
Or
- whether you have enough free memory / storage (at least 50Gb free)
to allow for smooth operation of your Mac.

And / or
- if your MacBook Pro has enough space, and is compatible (ie: MacBook Pro introduced in late 2013 or later),
you might want to try updating to to the latest Operating system (11.6) and software.
