Lost all contacts

Recently had to delete an email account due to it not letting me update password. Added the email account again and now all contacts are gone. How do I get them back?

iPhone 8, iOS 15

Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other
