How to set up shortcut for "Merge & Center" in Excel on a Macbook Pro?

Dear all,

How to set up a shortcut for the "Merge & Center" action in Excel on a Macbook Pro?

I did my search and this similar question has been asked frequently. And when it comes to the Numbers app from Apple, the question gets answered and works.

E.g. this one: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5362991

and this one: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2537949

So I'm aware of the System -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcut trick.

Yet, it does not work as expected when it comes to the Excel app from Microsoft.

As described in this question that was asked and no one replied in 3 years... (poor soul...

To try to get answers, cuz I need them for my work, I followed the community's suggestion to ask for a new one.

Pray to God we could put down the resent between Apple and Microsoft for a wee bit and share some thoughts. We might help people in the future who could also be needing it for work.

Hope they won't suffer, and live in peace.

Well, I am using a Macbook Pro, and it's a macOS version software...

The same question did get asked over there in that more Apple opponent community though and the answer is no, there is none such shortcut, mixed with various fascinating curses and sarcasm towards Apple. Funny it is to learn how people can manipulate their words but in the meantime not quite helpful.

I'd take my chance here for a workable solution.

Apple's theory for the shortcut is, to set it up using macOS system control, despite the producer of the app, then apparently it's a macOS thing, not the app's thing, right?

On to your other question, why it's not helpful there. Cuz people just tell me no, there is none such a shortcut available in Excel on Mac. Added to that, emotional catharsis out of the resentment towards Apple. Hence, functionally helpless.

And of course, you're right should anyone who knows how to set up this shortcut, if there is one, would be Excel users, who use Excel on a Mac, theoretically.

I would count on the community contributors who get paid by Apple to somehow come up with a solution.

Both for me and for whomever that might come to this path, of using a Mac during their day job but are more familiar with Excel that on a rather common scenario would definitely want a shortcut for Merge & Center which is easily available for the Numbers app, that is made by Apple.

Just need this for my work that's all. I can even live with it if the answer is still there is none.
