Hi, I'm trying to authorize my new macbook on itunes, but when I try signing in, it says "We could not process your iTunes store request. The requested resource was not found."Has anyone else had this problem before?
I had it happen a couple of times today, but it has since cleared up. I think it was probably an issue with the iTunes store on Apple's end. Give it another try later and if it is still an issue then try contacting iTunes store support.
Getting the same error when trying to purchase a new song from iTunes. Happened 8/7 and 8/8 regardless of what song I select. Tried rebooting iTunes/ computer. iPod software up to date. One version behind on iTunes. Suggestions?
I was having the same problem after I sync my newly purchased with a new iTunes account for my dad.
I always seems to get this error message whenever I sign in or sign out of iTunes.
What I did was first quit iTunes. Then I moved the file *$HOME$/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist* file to the desktop (as a backup so you can restore it if needed).
When you start iTunes again, you will be prompted as if this is the first time you use iTunes (it will prompt you if you want to search for MP3 files, if you want to keep iTunes library organized, etc.). You can say NO to search for MP3, and then answer the rest of the questions according to your personal preference. When iTunes start, all your Music/Video/etc. Libraries should remain untouched (unless you say YES to search for MP3 again.)
You should now be able to sign in / sign out to iTunes Account.
This seems to work for me, so hopefully it works for you.
Just updated my itunes and have the same error. However, I have been completely unsuccessful in locating either of those folders as well as the plist file. Where should I look?
If you first go to your HOME folder, you should have folders like "Documents", "Music", "Movies", and one of them is "Library". Inside the Library folder, you will see the [Preferences] folder. You can find the .plist file in that Preferences folder.
I tried this (with the newest version of iTunes) and I could log in again just fine... but I can't purchase ANY songs from iTunes, I get the same error message. Help! I just put money in my account, I don't want it to be wasted.
I was having the same problem. My computer automatically logs me into the itunes account so I logged out - re-signed in and it came up with a new user agreement for me to accept and now works perfectly fine. I think this started happening when I upgraded to the latest version so it must have had a glitch in showing the user agreement and wouldn't let me continue and gave the requested resource response.
This has been a pain for 2 days now. Could not login with my or my sons account, same "resource not found" errors. Went to the "store" tab at the top left, selected "authorize computer" and it connected and said it was already authorized, Then did "check for available downloads", it connected and said no downloads available, then I was able to get sign in on both accounts.
I was actually having the exact same problem. A month old mac newly synced with my old library-- suddenly was having issues connecting my account on iTunes. I logged out of iTunes from the Account tab, and logged back in... viola... no more problems.
