To Check for Updates:
Use a Computer and Ethernet:
Start with attempting an update through use of a computer. If you cannot use Wi-Fi, then use Ethernet. Go Here: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip. On the computer, you would connect it through Ethernet, going directly into your router. For a Mac (or PC) that does not have Ethernet, this would be the adapter to use: Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple. If you get the same error, the model is likely just not compatible.

The OP did not say they were getting an error.
If they were presented with an option to update, then their device is compatible with that update.

Not did they say the didn't. So, update via a computer. It doesn't have the be WiFi.
Obviously they could update using their computer.
My point should be pretty clear.
You are pasting in boiler plate responses without editing them to make sense for the individual inquiries.
When you state 'if you get the same error', it implies that an error was discussed.. which is only confusing because no one has yet mentioned an error of any kind. the OP simply asked how to update. So Kurtosis12's response is perfect, and rightfully got the AR.
When you state 'the device is likely just not compatible', it's flat out misleading. as I've commented in this thread and another.. They won't be offered an update if their device is not compatible with it. Therefore the comment should never really apply to any update situation.
