Reset Mic Access for QuickTime (Big Sur, M1)

New MacBook Air, Big Sur, accidentally clicked "no" when asked to grant microphone access. Quicktime does not appear in the security settings under microphone. I tried also recommended command lines to fix:

tccutil reset Microphone com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX

That did not work, I tried:

tccutil reset Microphone

Neither worked, rebooted even, Quicktime does not have access to the mic. Help!

Hello Joel Braverman,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand you'd like to access the microphone for QuickTime on your Mac. We'll be happy to help.

Excellent job with the steps that were performed so far. If you haven't tried yet, let's see if the option to select your microphone appears within QuickTime Player via the options menu. For directions, please follow steps one and two in this helpful article: Record audio in QuickTime Player on Mac

Please let us know if that helps.

Best regards.
