Google Drive for desktop

I've recently installed this new "version" of Google Drive, but there is no way to syncronise files on the resident folder with the cloud. The google support says it happens because the "security & privacy" system of the mac does not allow G Drive to syncronise. I have modified the "firewall", allowing the app Google Drive to access the mac. But still it does not work.

Any advice? Thanks.

I subscribe to some space with google and so I could access phone support with a smarmy technician. In all, testing various things, it came down an old kernel from Backup and Sync that would not allow the new Google Drive to get permssion to run.

Here's the terminal command I've run on 2 machines successfully. After that. Google Drive prompts Security to ask for permission to run and it works as intended.

-Enter recovery mode

-Launch the terminal in recovery mode

-Run:

chflags restricted "/Volumes/Macintosh HD/private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement"
