Unable to delete users on my iMac

I have logged in as the administrator and unlocked the perference lock but I am unable to select users.

Trying to delete users I am trying to delete a user to look at selling my Imac, it is currently running 10.15.4, its a 21.5 late 2013 model, 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Intel i5 8gb Ram. When I log in to Users & Groups with all users except myself logged out padlock unlocked, I highlight the one to be deleted click the - sign but nothing happens after that I have waited for more than 10 mins. I have tried to restart the Imac and still no joy I created an new user but cant delete that either!! I know everything seems slow on it but I would of expected it to show up the delete options before 10 mins. Can anyone please assist with this further? Regards, Wyn

How can I delete an user if I can't do it on System Preference/Users and Groups I want to remove a couple of users from my old MacBook Pro. I tried using the standard procedure (System Preferences/Users and Groups ==> unlock ==> select the user to be deleted ==> press minus button), but it doesn't work. The "minus" button changes it's color to grey from white, but then nothing else happens... The users I want to delete are not in use when I try to delete. One user had got administrator privileges, the other one didn't. The Mac Book is currently running Mac OS High Sierra (V. 10.13.6). Can anybody help me, please? Thanks. Riccardo

Not able to delete the standard user on mac air I am login to admin and went to users and selected the standard users and tried to minus it and the minus is grey out and cannot delete it will deleting it will save size as well

Those other Users must be logged out, seems like you or they are using Fast User Switching.
