Invalid serial number on Apple Trade In

I want to check the trade-in value of my 2017 MBP, however the Trade In page reports the serial number as invalid.

The MBP is a 13" 2017 no touchbar, purchased direct from Apple along side AppleCare. Serial numbers on chassis and in About this Mac match exactly, and also match with Apple ID device info.

I have tried typing and copy-pasting, many times, also swapping zeros for letter O's, etc.

I can't even schedule a chat or call, because that also needs the serial number - aargh!

Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Problem resolved.

Whilst I was unable to arrange a hardware related chat or call because the serial number was required (and was not recognised), I was able to arrange an iCloud related chat. Though nothing to do with iCloud, my problem was resolved in under two minutes.

V. impressed. Just waiting now for the trade-in to be processed, then ordering a new MBP ✌️

It is not uncommon, it happens.

Copy and paste from >About this Mac

Apple does not use Letter O for this reason in their Serial Numbers, you see this more clearly in plain txt
