With remote A2540 the setup walk me through configuring the volume and mute buttons. However, I would like to program the power button to power on/off my TV along with the Apple TV box. Is this doable and if so how can it be done?

Through HDMI-CEC, the Apple TV box can send a signal to other HDMI connected devices about waking and sleeping. If that function is supported and activated on all devices, then the TV would power on/off with the Apple TV box.
