Apple Music on Android will not read audio files stored on SD card

Thanks for the reply, but I followed all the obvious, generic advice in Apple Support articles to no avail. The problem is very simple and basic: my Sony A105 android music player device refuses to recognize audio files stored in a folder titled "music" at the root level. The non-Apple music player app preloaded on the Sony device reads and plays the files just fine, so there is nothing basically wrong with the files or how they are stored. The files themselves all came from my iTunes library. I have been playing these files on other Apple devices for years. There is no incompatibility between Apple and these file formats.

I am using a removable SD card for storage, but according to all the Apple Support articles I read, this should not create any obstacle for the Apple Music app. However - in looking at various online forums I find that many other people seem to have my problem. A posting on one forum with 'Apple Music won't read files in "music" folder on SD card' had 93 added postings chiming in with the same problem. There did not appear to be any posted response with a solution.
