I recently bought a 2021 12.9” iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil for school. When I need to hand write notes, I have been folding the Magic Keyboard flat and placing the iPad on top. Will this damage the camera of the iPad or the Magi Keyboard?

You do indeed have a the Magic Keyboard for iPad - and not the Smart Folio Keyboard as I have first surmised.
The Smart Folio Keyboard is designed to fold all the way around - but the Magic Keyboard for iPad is not intended to be used this way. You would be well advised to desist from doing so - as damage to the cover mechanism is very likely to occur.

That keyboard case is NOT designed to use the way you are using this.
I would desist from using the Magic keyboard in this manor.
There is the possibility of damage to the keyboard, trackpad and to the iPad’s camera.
I presume that you are using an Apple Smart “foilo” keyboard. This keyboard is designed to be folded behind the iPad, as you have described, when it’s use is not required.
