Disable magsafe

I just bought the 13 Pro Max 256, and come to find out that for some reason, Apple is trying to kill us with it! I have a pacemaker, and this stupid phone has a Big magnet in the back!! All to use something called "magsafe" Sorry Apple, there is Nothing safe about a big giant magnet in the back of the phone! So, how can I turn Off or maybe Disable this ridiculous magnet, so I may live to call another day?! I've had nothing but I phones for many generations, and wanted to get to 5 g, so maybe I can get decent cell service.......but again........the magnet will Kill me!!!

Does anyone first off, care, and is there any solution to this issue, or do I have to reluctantly get an android or pixel? My phone is still a couple weeks away from arriving, but if there is no solution, and I'm in danger of being killed by my phone, I'm just going to have to cancel my $1400.00 order!!

It's up to you to do the research to determine the suitability of a product for your life and lifestyle.

Magsafe involves a permanent magnet so no, it cannot just be "turned off."

Yeah, I can care less about that silly magnet, I understand what it does, but feel it unnecessary as I have Very fast power blocks at home, at my desk, and in my 4Runner that charge way faster than any wireless charger. Even have three Big Anker battery packs that are quite fast as well........they charge my phone and I Pad Pro really fast too.

But getting back to my research, the cardiologist tech dept. said the same thing as apple, to try and keep it 6" away, blah blah blah. So then I called the device manufacturer, they said they are aware of it, and if the phone is near my heart, that it may not kill me right away, but would trip it up and raise my heart rate up Over 100 bpm!! But, that it would eventually go down and correct itself to a normal heartbeat. And again, keeping it 6" away. So I guess I'll give it a try, what's the worst can happen......I croak!! Lol! If it does too many funky things to me, I'll just return it. Thanks for your replies.

Buy some AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones. Then make and place phone calls without having to keep the phone close to your ears or heart.

I honestly don't think you're going to croak (more importantly, I truly hope you don't) and do believe you can manage to operate your phone safely.

You may even find for charging that MagSafe is like one of the greatest inventions EVER. I finally went full-on MagSafe and have replaced every other type of charger I had (from Wireless Charging Stands to any other method) with MagSafe chargers and don't know I lived before them.

Thanks, I read that before. It seems a bit silly to put something into a phone that a billion people use, but not think about the consequences of the millions of people with pacemakers that may also be apple users. I see zero value of this magsafe garbage.

Trying to also get clarification from my cardiologist, he is not very easy to get a hold of. So, I Am trying to do my due diligence and research.

Also trying to find anything that could block the magnet's power. After that, it's either keep my XS, or get an 11 pro max, which really isn't much of an upgrade, and still not be able to get 5g. Or, go to the dark side and get one of the other brands, which I don't like.

I guess by comparison I love it, Magsafe is my favorite feature of the 12 and 13.

I no longer have to guess at placement on a Qi charger, I move the phone until it solidly clicks thanks to the magnet, and I can pick up the phone and move it without losing contact, again thanks to the magnet.

I understand this is an issue for you, and that sadly, if you need a phone without Magsafe, you may have to select a different vendor.

While I can certainly see why you don't think it was necessary, Apple is always innovating and for millions of us, MagSafe is an amazing addition to iPhone. Could I charge my phone without it? Sure. But it's honestly one of the greatest things Apple has brought to iPhone, so many would say now that they use it, it is totally necessary. Now that I've gone MagSafe, I certainly won't go back, that's for sure.

Yeah, I get it, this will be like my 6th or 7th I phone, I still have my old 4s (gathering dust) 7 and the XS I'm using. If they would have wanted to actually give me something for them, I may have traded them in, but not giving away my XS in Perfect condition for $247.00! I'll keep them as paper weights, or mini mini I pads, or in case I lose or damage one, always have a back up!

And who knows, maybe I'll use the charger thingy, but Not if it puts out a worse magnetic force used together. Again, I have Plenty of Fast charging options already.
