AppleCare 3-year plan for Macbook Pro- coverage renewable or not?
If one purchases AppleCare for 3 years up front for the new Macbook Pro 2021, will coverage be renewable or not?

Thanks. The issue that I would like to clarify is whether or not in fact I will be able to renew a 3-year AppleCare plan if purchased with the new MacBook Pro 2021, as opposed to having to buy a yearly renewable plan.
It already happened with my current MacBook Pro (early 2015 edition) that had a 3-year AppleCare plan that was not renewable, so just checking because I keep my laptops for many years.
Thanks in advance.
The extending apple care+ after the original purchase— is limited to yearly extensions only. This is how it works.
Purchase the new coverage within 30 days after your original coverage ends. To find out if you can purchase the new coverage, go to mysupport.apple.com and follow the onscreen instructions. The new coverage automatically renews until canceled.

Exactly my point, and yes, it is Apple´s right to leave that option open, which is why I requested written confirmation from Apple despite their spoken assurances by two customer services reps who categorically stated that I would be able to renew a 3-year care plan (Andre and Akshita, both today, and both wrong). Anyway, case closed. Best regards.
I do not see this as an issue—
Rest assured if you meet the requirements you can extend the coverage when the time comes.
if it was an issue these ASC would be flooded with complaints along your lines, and I have witnessed none, zero, zip, nada...in the last 10+ years
Outside the USA, you may have to dig deeper for confirmation—since you do not specify.
If you have AppleCare+ it will cover a large portion of accidental damage.

Yes. What is the issue?
Hello SmithUponApple,
Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about extending an AppleCare agreement.
It looks like you've had the chance to review the related article above.
For more details on your particular renewal options, you’ll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact Apple Support
Take care.
“might” or “may” is legal speak. That means Apple has the option to offer it - or not - at that time. And there is no way for anyone to predict which option may be available at any particular time.
Thanks. The issue that I would like to clarify is whether or not in fact I will be able to renew a 3-year AppleCare plan if purchased with the new MacBook Pro 2021, as opposed to having to buy a yearly renewable plan.

No, if Apple says that I might be able to renew, then it is just that, no "rest assured" here. I live in the USA and have already experienced such a case, which is why I was investigating more. Anyway, thanks for your interest but the matter is quite clear and I am closing this thread, so to speak, nothing else to say. I will order my new MacBook Pro and AppleCare and that's that.
Best wishes and God bless!
Please note a couple of very important points:
these forums are not official Apple support; they are user to user only.
Because of that, nothing here can/will be the final word especially with legal definitions or requirements or availability. The only thing definitive would be something published by Apple.
So, we are unable to provide a definitive answer to any legal document other than posting links to Apple documents - vague or not.
Thanks again but the "might" in "might be able to purchase" only makes it clear that maybe yes, maybe no. Anyway, it is what it is, so I'll take my chances. Best regards, bye.
Completely agree, this is vague. And then the support pages give contradictory information:
