Safari cannot access, ONLY Micosoft Internet Explorer works...why?

I want to access a new site called: Employee Self Service. Here are the instructions:

1. Employees who currently access ZISD enterprise applications from home using VPN (Juniper) such as Chancery and Lawson may also use ESS from home.

2. Internet Explorer is the only browser that can be used. Safari and Mozilla are not supported browsers for ESS.

3. Two Microsoft patches may need to be installed. If you experience problems, the bottom of this message will contain explanations of possible problems and links to the appropriate patches.

a. Internet Explorer Patch 1
b. Internet Explorer Patch 2

So..is that that, or is there a way to access the asinine web site that can only be accessed through Internet Explorer?

Thanks,

Teacher

HI,

This may or may not work. No guarantee but worth a try.

From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Enable the Develop menu.

Now from the Safari Menu Bar click Develop/User Agent. Try IE there.

It's up to the website developer which browsers have accessibility.

Thanks, I did not know about that feature and it may come in handy.

However, I get to this site:

http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/97/l_9e78008de33c44c4af75404cef3bb1b 1.jpg

When I hit Lawson Web I get this:

Safari is no longer responding because
of a script on the webpage “Lawson portal”
DanaInfo=vmlawweb01.blawisd.org+?).
Do you want to stop running the script,
or let it continue?

ALSO, while attempting to log on I keep getting this downloaded to my desktop:

JuniperSetupClientInstaller-2.exe.download

Any thoughts?

Thanks again

OH, if I let it keep running..Safari crashes, EVERY TIME. Very annoying.

School? Me? No, I'm retired. No schools for me. I posted the link to UMN because it popped up in a google search. When I originally went to https://ra.balwisd.org/lawson/portal/ I got the you need to download stuff, but I declined, and eventually got to a login page, which without being a member was useless to me. As I noted earlier, this is something you need to take up with your IT folks or the Juniper folks. It appears that both organizations are windoze-centric. Good luck breaking that cabal.
