I don't see some photos in group chat

I have an ongoing group chat with some friends and three of us are iPhone users and one is an android user. It's only in this particular group chat with these three people that I (more often than not) can't see the photos that one of the iPhone users shares (you'd think it would be the android user!). I've checked all of my settings to see if I have her accidentally blocked or muted or if some other setting is different with her than anyone else. I can't find a solution. Any ideas?

iPhone 12 Pro - running iOS 14.8

(however this has been an ongoing problem since my last upgrade from the iPhone 7+)

P.S. Why does it say "Old Hardware" under my name?
