Issue Logging In

I have forgotten my password to login to the account. However I know my Apple ID and password. However it won't let me reset my password due to not being able to connect to a network. I've tried to connect but it won't let me open the wifi networks to connect.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Are you able to connect your MBP to your router/modem via Ethernet cable. Then try what's described in this Apple document: If you forgot your Mac login password
