iPhone 13 pro voice cuts and the other person can't hear me

I have an issue where my iphone 13 pro voice cuts out on speakerphone calls, not for me, but for the person on the other phone. Anyone else having this happen? The speaker grilles are clear.

Hello everyone.

i just want to share the solution i figured out which greatly helped me, hopefully it’ll be a big help to everybody struggling with the speaker problem; being not heard by the other party when using the speaker for calls.

during calls, slide down the top of your screen to open Control Centre. You will see the a setting “Mic Mode”, i saw in my setting that its “Voice Isolation” i turned it to wide spectrum or standard. And it immediately worked! Hopefully it will work. I have attached a photo of what im referring to.

cheers

ND_2021 said to turn off the noice cancelling but the Pro Max doesn't have noice cancelling and people are asking Apple to put it back. Normally, you would do it here but you won't find this on the I13 Pro Max: settings, accessibility, audio/visual, and turning on phone noise cancellation toggle. I think Apple downgraded the microphone on the I13. So much money for less phone.

I’m having some strange connectivity issues with calls and 5g etc. May not be Apple fault could be my Verizon (I have the most expensive unlimited plan btw). My phone calls seem laggy/cut in an out, using apps that require 5g/gps tracking also lag or fail to update “steps” until I connect to Wi-Fi. Not sure if it’s my 13 mini or Verizon unlimited plan.

In your step 2 I can hold the side button down for minutes and it won't reboot, if that is what you are trying to do. So I did step 1 and step 2. Then I rebooted the usual way by pressing the side button and the up volume and selected to turn off iphone. Then I turned it back on with the side button. Step 3 worries me. If I select "Transfer or reset Iphone" and then select "Reset" will that wipe anything out like my contacts, etc.?

I have exactly the same problem with my iPhone 13 Pro that I bought a week ago. Still have my old iPhone X and the sound there is great! I also got new MacBook Air and looks like it has the same issue with speaker. People are complaining that they don’t hear me clearly, my sound is cutting while I’m using Skype or Zoom. I tried it on my old Windows laptop with the same internet connection, and everyone hears me well.. Very frustrated! I thought I’m buying the best quality electronic items, but it turns out to be the worst.. I didn’t expect this from Apple..

I agree. Wish I knew. I’ve been to the Genius Bar twice. Once I was asked what exactly I wanted from them. Told her, just a phone that work, preferably not worse than the older model I replaced it for. The second time the guy suggested all the things I had tried. Then said it’s the first he’s heard of it. So it must be my backup. I told him I didn’t restore from backup and he just shrugged. Super frustrating, I mainly used FaceTime and now can’t use it without headphone and without it being plugged in the battery dies so fast.

is it true that there’s no return policy?

Hi Datindy,

Thanks for testing it. I’ve contacted Apple support several times and in the end they said can you prove it with a video that what you’re saying is really the case.

They said to me that they found no hardware issue after running the diagnostic test.

I urge everyone here to please screen record your calls at both ends in order to proof Apple and post your videos here.
