Screen Timeout

I am trying to turn off the automatic screen timeout for my MacBook Pro. Everything I have looked up has pointed me to System Preferences > Energy Saver, however I do not have that option in my System Preferences. Nothing in the battery settings shows an option for turning off the screen timeout.

Hello planetmars91,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're looking for options to control your screen settings for your MacBook Pro. If you go to Apple Menu () > System Preferences > Battery. When there, select Battery in the side panel and you should have a slider titled "Turn display off after:" and you can place the slider in the position you want, ranging anywhere from 1 minute to never.

If you're not seeing this option, have you tried restarting your MacBook or checking to see if you can see this option when in safe mode or in another user account?

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - to test in another user account, if you don't have one set up.

Best regards.
