My iphone 10 Max storage, 512 GB is full. I do not want to delete any stored data to free up space. What are my options?

"iPhone Storage: Thanks. This is helpful but will not free up enough space that I need. What is the advantage of storage in the iCloud. If I transfer certain big files, audio, video and pictures to iCloud and then remove them from the phone?"

-------

Advantage:

The advantage is that the data will be accessible if your device were to fail.

Troubleshooting iPhone Storage:

Internal storage cannot be upgraded. It is what it is. So, internal storage never changes, even if you upgraded your iCloud plan. Learn More here: What's the Difference Between Device Storage and iCloud Storage? Apple Support

So, what to do:

Clear Space:

Try clearing internal storage though use of the following:

What Space to Clear:

A. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

Also...

B. Clean TV and Music Libraries:

Remove all unneeded files from your TV and Music Libraries. Full-Movies take up 2-4GB typically, and a bunch of those would take up a load of storage, ideally. So, if you have any movies that are not needed, then delete them.

In general, storage on iCloud is “mirrored” on your iPhone (iPad, Mac, etc.).

In such cases, deleting the file from any of your devices will also delete it from iCloud, as well. Hence, once the deletion is finalized, the file is fully gone!

So, be careful what you do with iCloud storage!

A simpler way to offload files from your iPhone, while making sure you keep the file safe, is to offload the files to a Computer.

There are also file optimization type iCloud storage uses, but it will take time for the iCloud storage optimization to “minimize” the use of your iPhone’s storage, while retaining the full files within iCloud.

However, once again, you cannot delete the “stub” files from your iPhone without eliminating the corresponding, full file from iCloud.
