Ipad mic only works with certain apps

My iPad Air (3rd gen) IOS 15.0.2 recently microphone ONLY works with video recording (front & back) but NOT with calls, FaceTime, Voice memos etc.

I’ve updated iOS. Did hard reset.

Followed every thread of suggested solutions with NO SUCCESS.

Is this now another fancy drink coaster or landfill?

PLEASE HELP!

The apps showing in Privacy > Microphone >

Google Duo

Messenger

YouTube

The apps in question that do not work do not show here on my iphone either but iphone mic works on all apps. This is frustrating and baffling.

This you experience that behavior with the Voice Memos app, you’ll want to reach out to Apple Support so they can look into this behavior further: If the microphones on your iPad aren't working
