Time Machine Backup to Freecom HDD

Have been happily using a Freecom 56278 1TB HDD for a good few years now for my Time Machine Backups, which only has Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt connections. Now have a brand new MI Mac and wonder if anyone can say if the HDD will still work if I invest in a Thunderbolt to USB3 or 4 cable (the only options on my MI. Apologies if a stupid question, but am a bit of a "dummy" when it comes to the technical side of things.

Regards,

Loxy

It should. Give it a try. If you buy the adaptor from Apple and it doesn't work you have 14 days from the date of purchase to return it for a full refund no questions asked.
