iTunes App Keeps Requesting Password

I recently migrated from an iPhone 11 to an iPhone 13 Pro and ever since I've had a problem making music purchases via the iTunes Store app on the phone. When I purchase a song, it asks for the face ID authorization, which works, then it asks me to provide my Apple ID password. I am logged into my Apple account, so why does iTunes keep asking me to type in my password. Once I do that, the purchase goes through just fine.


One thread suggested that I logout and then log back in, but when I attempt to do that it warns me that all of my iCloud content will be deleted. I don't want to risk that.


Any thoughts?

Hi E the P,


We see you're still being prompted with your password although you have Face ID enabled in the your settings. Let's try turning off Face ID for App Store and iTunes purchases, restarting your iPhone and enabling it again. You can learn how to disable the feature temporarily here: Require a password for App Store and iTunes purchases


Let us know if this resolves things for you.

Thanks I'll give it try and report back the next time I try to buy a song. I appreciate your help.

That fixed the problem, along with the upgrade to 15.1. Not sure which one fixed it, but thanks!!
