Manual setup of HomePod mini where do I get the 8 digit code?

There is no other way to set it it up

make sure you have updated the iOS device ( iPhone?) to iOS 15.0.2 first

Ypu must be signed into your Apple ID on your iOS device.

Make sure your phone isn’t in Lock Screen when you hold it near the HomePod or nothing will happen

Bluetooth, wifi and keychain need to be on and your Apple ID needs to be using two factor authentication

What part are you getting stuck on? Or does it never even start? It can take a few moments for the chime to start, so be patient. Try unplugging now , then plug back in, wait for the chime. If impatient just put your iPhone beside it and when you hear the chime you can get started. Follow the onscreen instructions on your phone

Some other things to try if it still won’t work: On your iOS device in Settings- General- scroll down to Reset- Reset Network Settings. It will restart and you will need to join your network again.

I set my original HomePod up on iOS 11, iPhone 6 but this is a mini so it might require a more recent iOS. I can’t with any certainty answer your question. EDIT: I think it’s the mini not working with your phone because my old iPad on iOS 12 does not display the mini in the home app, which is where it needs to be. I set my mini up on iOS 13. You can also set up with an iPad or iPod Touch
