Restore Apple TV
I have my Apple TV model A1842 but out of no where it went black and now I get a messed saying support.Apple.com/applets/restore

If you see a warning symbolwhile trying to update the software on your Apple TV, or see a black screen on your TV and flashing indicator light on the front of your Apple TV, contact Apple Support.
So contact an Apple representative about it. Users can’t restore this model by themselves, unfortunately.
