Motion "Vertical Alignment" grayed out
How do I adjust the vertical alignment for a text layer (Inspector > text > format > vertical alignment)? It is grayed out for me.

Click on Layout, and change the layout method from "Type" to "Paragraph":
Then under Format, you will be able to adjust vertical alignment:

Thank you! I discovered I can actually change it in the HUD but it doesn’t make any difference. While I can adjust it in the HUD, it is still grayed out in the Inspector.
For the purpose of this question, I think your answer is the proper way to do it. It has led me to another problem though, which would be best served in its own separate post:
