Access photos from broken iPhone

Hi there. I broke my iPhone and I hadn’t backed it up. I then changed to an iphone that was my daughters old phone for a short period of time whilst my employer sorted out a replacement. When she set it up she backed it up, then a few weeks later I got my replacement phone. On setting up and trying to access my photos on original phone I couldn’t see them.

I guess they must be somewhere but no idea of how to access my many family pics from the phone.
