3G vs LTE

My iPhone 11 lists that it has both 3G and LTE

My carrier is eliminating 3G coverage as of January 2022. Can I then get by with LTE only without losing service. Is LTE the same as 4 G?

iPhone 12 service I just purchased an iPhone 12 because the assistant on Apple.com said I can continue to use a 4G LTE. I do not want to go to a 5G phone as the plans are higher, and I am a senior citizen. I currently use Verizon as my net work, but I believe I would have to go to a 5G service. Is anyone familiar with a network for the iPhone 12 that give you a 4G LTE service?
