Is there a way to use a Canon Pixma MG2900 with mac OS Big Sur 11.6?

Is there a way to use a Canon Pixma MG2900 with mac OS Big Sur 11.6? I have used this printer with my Mac before. However, one day the icon for the Printer turned into a question mark. When I attempted to use the printer again I could not. So I attempted to download the set up for the printer. The Mac said it could not be used because it was 32 bit app. Can anyone help?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

Neither Catalina nor Big Sur support 32-bit drivers or applications. Unless there is a 64-bit printer driver available from Canon for Big Sur, you are probably done with it. The Canon site shows a PIXMA MG2920 (2900 series) printer and scanner driver from Sept 2021 available for Catalina, but not for Big Sur. It still might work, or not.

The MG2900 is not supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint.

The opensource GutenPrint claims support the entire MG2900 series devices, but with the following caveat:

and your mileage may vary. GutenPrint for Mac has not been updated in two years and simply may not work in Big Sur. Not a change I would be willing to take with my Mac.
