Just experienced this; MacBook Pro 16", with Catalina 10.15.7., using a SuperDrive. Try quitting iTunes (Music) first, mount the disc, and reopen. That has worked for me so far. Appears to be a coding issue.

Step #4 is important, firewalls and other security apps could cause issues with iTunes.
