I put my photos in the cloud and now I can’t retrieve them.

I thought I was putting my photos inthe iCloud but now I can’t retrieve them.

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 14

Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

If you're missing photos or videos in the Photos app - Apple Support
