I’m on a new iMac M1 and I’ve tried everything in the Apple support article including logging in as a new user. I can’t use compressor at all. FCPX still works with a compressor preset however which is weird.

Does the application have Full Disk Access in Privacy System Preferences?

I had my iMac M1 re-imaged at our campus computer store and Compressor is working so far. I am installing all my other video editing software and plugins manually this time instead of using Migration Assistant!
One thing. After installing Compressor (along with Motion and FCPX), none of the apps are listed as having Full Disk Access in Security and Privacy. Since it the most often given troubleshooting advice, why is this and should I add the apps back to it?
Then you need to add it. Unlock the pane, and in the Full Disk Access section click the + button.
It looks like there’sa lot of obsolete extensions and other stuff that have been dragged in from older OSs. You also have a Chrome and the keystone daemons installed that need to be wiped out. Try testing on a new admin user with full disk access.
No, only Final Cut Pro is listed as having Full Disk Access
The college I work at use Google for everything so the install it at the computer store on campus. It hasn't caused a problem before but I did look into the the chrome is bad website. I just don't know. I really wished I had not used the Migration tool this time now that I have a M1 instead of intel Mac. On the other hand, everything else is working except Compressor so it is a bit odd. Here is the new EtreCheck under the new account I setup.
I tried removing Chrome and everything associated with it, but compressor still won’t submit to transcode.
I have to say, it’s a very odd error to getting when everything else is working on my system and after all these troubleshooting steps.
How do I revert to an older version of compressor?
Adding Compressor to the Full Disk Access list didn't fix the issue. I never run into this before with compressor over the years...

Try rebooting. There may be a software conflict on the system. Please post an EtreCheck report https://etrecheck.com giving the application full disk access in System Preferences. When it finishes the scan, click Share Report and choose "Copy Report.” Use the Additional Text button to paste the report into the reply.
Did you reinstall Compressor after cleaning up the system? I assume it didn't work in the new user. You can revert if you have a backup in Time Machine or whatever you're using for system backup.
