How to change tab bar gray background in Mac Safari 15 from grey to white

The black text on dark grey background on the new Mac Safari tab bar is hard for me to read on a 13" MacBook Air screen. Is there a way to change that to white or light grey? I figured out how to avoid having the website color scheme in the tab bar, but found no control for the default dark grey tab background.

Hi DSMN,

To change tab bar back ground colour:

With a Safari window open:

Click "Safari" in top menu bar.

Choose "Preferences" from the drop-down menu that opens

Click "Tabs" in the top menu bar of the small window that opens

Click the small white box next to "Show color in Tab Bar" to ensure it is "ticked". (unticked = grey)

Hope this works for you :-)

Ooops ... seems that only changes the background of the bar "above" the actual tabs,

Guess you really need to change the background of each individual tab !

Apologies :-)

BTW ... Hovering on a tab displays a slightly more easy to read version of each tab's name

Any one else have a better suggestion for DSMN ???
