Does an Apple Watch 7 (cellular+GPS) bought in the US work in India?

Reliance Jio in India supports following RF bands

1) Bands 3 1800MHz FDD

2) Band 5 850MHz FDD

3) Band40 2300MHz TDD

The US version of Apple Watch 7 Model A2477(45mm) also supports these bands. Is it safe to assume that this watch would work in India on Jio network?

As I mentioned in my question, the band supported by Indian telecom provider Jio matches with the band supported by US version of the Apple Watch series 7, in such case what would stop it from functioning in India, are there any additional checks built-in like source IP address etc. ?

The Indian carrier would stop it from working. It is known many carriers will not activate a watch that was not sold in the country.

The Link I posted above even states it will not work (Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple):

To cover the LTE and UMTS bands used around the world, there are two separate cellular models for Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch SE. They have been optimized for use in the country of purchase, and not all models work in all countries or regions. There is no single model that supports cellular service worldwide.

But you are welcome to try.

It does not matter if some of the bands are used in both regions, the USA model is not approved under Indian regulations and the Indian networks will refuse to activate cellular service. Game Over as far as cellular is concerned, but it would still work as a GPS-only model when linked to your iPhone. My advice is to buy in the country/region where a cellular device will be used, but if you insist it should work we can't prevent you finding out the expensive way.
