For texts, phone doesn't buzz and screen doesn't wake
Hi all — I have an iPhone 11 on version 15.0.2. I got it around June of this year. Lately I've been having a problem where I'll receive a text, but the phone (which I always keep on silent mode) does not buzz, and the locked screen does not wake up to show me a text has arrived. I'm wondering if this might have something to do with these new "focus modes," but every time I check them, they all appear to be turned off. At any rate, for the few of them that I actually set up before deciding I didn't want to use them, I specifically set each so my wife's texts would get through no matter what, and there have been several occasions lately where she texts me, and although my phone is right beside me on the desk and face-up, I don't get any indication that she's contacted me.
In Settings > Messages > Notifications, this is how I have things set up:
In the Sounds & Haptics settings, I have "Vibrate on Ring" and "Vibrate on Silent" both switched on. In these options, under "Sounds and vibration patterns," For "Text Tone" I have a ringtone set, and a vibration set.
And again, any time I pick up my phone and realize I missed a text, I check to see if some focus mode or "Do Not Disturb" mode is inadvertently on, and so far as I can tell, none of that is ever active.
I've read a few articles out there about how to fix this, and my settings are always already aligned with what they say I need to have them all set to, so I'm out of ideas.
