Something strange!

Hello all,

I have an iPhone 7. Some strange things have been happening recently. Today, I was in my call log when I noticed an icon I have never seen before. It looked like an old phone facing downward with signal bars emitting from both sides. The icon was to the left of the time. Additionally, the default white turned dark gray. See attached photo.Does anyone know what this means? Google search has lead to nothing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

thank you!

Hello,

That symbol is not included in Learn the meaning of the iPhone status icons - Apple Support so I apologize if this is incorrect.

That symbol looks like the call silenced indicator. Having Do Not Disturb or Focus set up can send calls straight to voicemail. Also, Phone settings can silence unknown callers in that way too.

Set up Focus on iPhone - Apple Support

Choose whether you want to receive calls during this Focus: Tap Calls From, then select an option—Everyone, No One, Favorites, or All Contacts. To allow repeated calls (two or more calls from the same person within three minutes), turn on Allow Repeated Calls. Then tap  at the top left.“

I hope this helps.
