iMac missing internal drive

my 2011 imac will not open in safe mode or when im able to get utilities open the internal hard drive is nkt there to use the original OS disk to reinstall. what is going The window comes up asking to select the disk where you want to install Mac OS and it’s blank.

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

The hard drive has failed.


An Apple Store will no longer work on that old of an iMac. If you want to have it checked out, you will need to contact your local Apple Authorized Service Provider. https://getsupport.apple.com


In addition, I hope that you were diligent and have a good backup. Because your going to need it to restore your data back to either your repaired iMac or to new Mac.
