Macbook Remote Login

Is it safe to have remote login turned on? When it is turned on what prevents anyone or a hacker from accessing your computer? Do they need certain info that is not publicly shared?

Possible spying through remote access Hello, I have reason to believe someone may have been spying on me though remote access. I have exhausted all steps to ensure remote access is impossible now, but if someone in the past did in fact have access, would their user accounts still appear under remote sharing/management in system preferences? Even after a software update? If they were to illegally enter my home and delete said accounts, is there any possible way at all to see all past user accounts that have had access to my iMac? I also found sshd-keygen-wrapper under full disc access, unticked. After some reading, I found the following: As far as access by the secure shell is concerned, Macs are in one of three states: never accessed, and sshd-keygen-wrapper is absent from the Full Disk Access list; accessed and permission granted, with sshd-keygen-wrapper listed and ticked; accessed and permission now stopped, with sshd-keygen-wrapperlisted but not ticked. Does this mean someone has in fact accessed my iMac? Would they need to be using the same wi-fi network? Sorry, I'm not very tech-savvy but have genuine concerns because of a stalker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
