I can only access 800GB of a 1TB SSD? Why?

I have a 1TB SSD. I created 2 partitions.


I created a 300GB partition for the Operating System. With the eDrive occupying another 25GB why would that leave me with only 475GB for my Videos partition? See the attached images to see what I mean.


A 1TB SSD and I can only access 800GB?


Help!

Well it looks like you have borked something here—


I can say all Volumes share space within a Container without penalty.


You have created multiple Containers (partitons) and / or tried to redo and have lost access to free space.



You maybe best to erase reformat the drive and then restore your data from backup.

Is there is really a reason to partition here...

this reference— you can add Volumes on the fly if that suits your desire to isolate your videos...
