How to recover deleted messages

i accidentally deleted all of my iMessages when my phone was in my pocket unlocked and I want to upload them back on my iPhone. They are backed up to my iCloud but I can’t figure out how to make them come back in my messages on my phone

iPhone 13 mini, iOS 15

Once deleted, messages are erased immediately. Messages in iCloud simply synchronizes messages across devices. If you do NOT use messages in iCloud, you may be able to restore messages from a prior backup (albeit at the expense of anything new since then as you'll have to restore your device).

You would have to restore the new phone (and replace everything on it) with the backup of the old phone.
