My Office365 Outlook email program stopped working on September 30 and my accounts are gone.

My Office365 Outlook email program stopped working on September 30 and my accounts are gone. It will not allow me to create another account using my same email and even new password. I have Time Machine Backups that go back before this. Is there some File I can copy from my TM backup to replace the newer one on my iMac that will give me back my old email account? I have thousands of emails I desperately need to keep.

I suggest that you start by contacting Microsoft's support people for assistance, since it is their program.

Are you saying that they refused to help you? What did they say? You are a paying customer, so Microsoft does not want to loose you. I have found that when I get in contact with someone who is unable to address my issue, the solution is often to recontact them and speak with someone else. Did you add or change anything on September 30? Since this appears to be an unusual situation, more useful information would be helpful.

I have some bad news for you I have recently found out that Time Machine does not back up our emails. I do not use Time Machine as I prefer to manually back up all my files. They are then always backed up to the minute. My wife needs to keep a large number of her emails for future reference, so for her backups we purchased Carbon Copy Cloner. It actually has more features than Time Machine. And it will store your emails.

Well they didn’t exactly refuse, they simply never replied to my emails. I guess I’ll have to phone them, though I hate sitting on hold for an hour or more to finally get a human on the line.

No I didn’t change anything....One minute it was working as it always had for years, when all of a sudden it asked me for my password, which it rejected! Since then, nothing!

No problem with a backup of my emails, I also keep 2-3 backup drives going every day, so my emails are all still there on Outlook. I just need to get Outlook working again! I have Carbon Copy Cloner too.

The thing is, I try to create a new account (don’t know if this is an Apple issue or Microsoft, under Internet Accounts in System Preferences), and it won’t even accept my user name, which I have had for many, many years!?! Changing that would involve changing my email address, which is used by hundreds of people! It’s vital to me to keep it as is!

I did that weeks ago and was completely ignored!

Very disappointing, since I have used and supported Office for many, many years!
