My iPhone XR over heats while charging even with 12w adapter. Is this a serious issue?

Hello sanjit177,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it sounds like there is a concern with using an adapter and overheating. We'll explain with resources what might be helpful.

This will provide some normal occurrences of when your iPhone gets unusually warm or when to be concerned: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures

If you're still seeing the same issues or feel it is getting too warm, check your connections and possibly try another outlet or charger. If you still think it's getting too hot, look into service options for the charger and/or iPhone: iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support

Thanks and have a great day.
