Creating a "bite mark" through a logo in Motion

Hi and thanks in adavnce... Can't find an answer in any forum!

Creating a video montage for a food festival and in the opening sequence I would like to have the logo eaten up. I will just be using a biting sound effect and need to create the look of a bite into the first half of the logo so that only half the logo remains. Upon the second biting sound effect the logo will be entirely gone and I will move into my FCP sequence.

Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks!

It's not difficult to do but it's difficult to explain. You will be creating a mask for the layer. The mask can be drawn easily using the tools in Motion or brought in from another application.

Thanks Bogiesan... What tool(s) within Motion can I use? I experimented with the mask, but can't achieve the look I want.

Use the bezier or b-spline mask tools to create your bite. Personally I'd apply the mask in subtract mode, and then I can duplicate the mask and reposition it to take several bites out of the logo.

You can also create one circle, duplicate it for as many teeth as you want, move them around to represent dentition, and apply add to all of them.

I have created the bite using the b-spline mask, but I'm at a loss as how to erase the logo up to the bite mark that I've created? How do I apply the mask in subtract mode?
