So I've just started using the Mac mini recently and have no idea how to fix this issue.
If someone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

What year model Mac Mini?
What display and how is it connected?
Try testing a different cable and/or display with the Mac Mini.
Try tested that display with another Mac or PC to see if the patch follows the display.
Go to Apple > System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > check "Reduce Transparency" to see if that helps.
There's a transparent rectangular box on the top left of my screen and I can't remove it
