Wireless hotspot not working after os update

Is anyone not able to connect to wireless hotspot after new OS update? I have tried with a cable to laptop with iPhone 13. I am also not able to connect from my iPhone to iPad mini. It worked fine beforehand.

Thanks.

I tried all the solutions posted online, and I contacted Apple support. Apple support, after easy troubleshooting, told me it's the problem due to carieer. Unfortunately, I later found out that's not the truth.

Coincidentally, I've got an iphone XS and an iphone 13 promax on hand with diffrent version of IOS and different carrier. Basically, it took me 10 minutes to keep switching sim card into different devices, and use different devices(apple and microsoft) to connect two different phones seperately.

The answer is actually fairly simple. You just simply go to setting, general, about, change your device name, and it works.

Hi d1jamesk,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with your Personal Hotspot on your iPhone. We'd like to help.

What happens when you try to connect your iPad mini to your iPhone's Personal Hotspot? Are you able to see the connection but it won't connect or are you not able to see the connection at all?

Have you completed this steps to try to get this resolved:

If Personal Hotspot is not working on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular)

Let us know how that goes and we'll continue from there.

Cheers!

It says unable to join the network “James’s iPhone”. I had already gone through all of the other troubleshooting steps. My iPhone is the 6 plus. I thought it might be because of the older os on the phone, however I have run into a situation with my Mom’s 13 while trying to use the hotspot with a lightning cord plugged into a laptop. Her old iPhone worked fine all of the time.
