Quark 2020 not compatible with Big Sur

My Quark is version 16.0 and Quark says my software is up-to-date.

V16.2 and V16.3 have been mentioned in this forum, with V16.3 being suggested as a possible solution.

The issue is that Quark quits when opening a new or existing file after I updated from Catalina to Big Sur.

When speaking to Quark, they say that Quark 2020 is not compatible with Big Sur.

I am shocked that this would be the case with such a recent version.

They want me to upgrade to 2021 to solve the issue.

Sorry I can't see the screenshots.

If you go to https://www.quark.com/support/downloads/ scroll down to 'Updaters' and select 2020.

The latest is actually October 2021 Update (16.3.6)

They are updates for Quark 2020, but the dates will say 2021.

QuarkXPress 2020 was updated to work with Big Sur back in February. You just need to download the free update from their site and you're sorted. I don't know what they're talking about on the phone because it works fine with the update.

I don't know if Monterey works yet. It might work fine (it's less of an update than Big Sur was under the hood) and if it doesn't Quark 2021 will receive an update between November and February, which is completely usual.

Not many professionals will be updating to Monterey until at least next year.
