Samsung T5 shows as DISCONNECTED in MacBookAirM1

Hi

I have bough a new MacBookAirM1 today and when I plugged in existing Samsung T5 SSD it shows as DISCONNECTED even though its connected through USBC and Blue light appears continuously

Samsung T5 is an existing SSD which I have used using Windows Laptop and it has lots of data in the SSD. Now I tried to plug in to MBAM1 and it is not recognizing.

I have updated the latest firmware of Samsung T5 SSD as well in MBAM1. still no luck

Please suggest

Thanks

Hello venkybulusu,

From your post it appears you are having an issue with a new MacBook Air recognizing an external hard drive.

You mention that the drive was being used with a Windows Laptop. Do you know what format the drive is?

Information on the file formats that a Mac can use can be found here: File system formats available in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Be sure that the drive fits these specifications.

Have a good day.

Hello venkybulusu,

Based on the information provided, the Mac should be able to read the exFat formatted disk.

Is the disk being mounted correctly when plugged into the Mac? Take a look at the information here on how to mount a volume: Mount a volume that’s been ejected using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

If you continue to have a problem reading the disk, we would suggest you Contact - Official Apple Support.

Have a good day.
