Magic Mouse tracking issue on Macbook Air

I just bought a new Macbook Air and have connected a Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard to it. I noticed that the mouse tracks relatively quickly when I move my hand quickly and moves much, much slower when I incrementally move the mouse. I've tried mouse speeds from the fastest possible to various steps below and it tracks about the same (although relative to what I set the speed to) which is to say faster when I move my hand fast and slower when I slow my hand speed.

I would prefer the mouse to track at the same speed no matter how fast or slow I move my hand. Is there a way to get it to do this?
