Wired keyboards can be used with iPad using a suitable USB Adapter. For iPad models with a Lightning port, Apple market two adapters:

The slightly cheaper Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (not recommended) does not feature a pass-through power connector - and will also not support connection of the majority of USB accessories that require power:

Basic keyboard functionality will be supported. Any non-standard functions that nominally require installation of specific keyboard drivers (such as with a PC or Mac) will not be available.

iOS/iPadOS offers no facility to add driver software - unless the custom driver is incorporated within an App.
